IMAGE’S BRIEF

Spider silk is a very special biological material, it is sticky, elastic and most importantly, it is lattice-like. Through the spider silk, people can see the world divided into different shapes. My client likes to make artifacts with a hazy fabric skin, and the layering of spider webs can achieve this feeling, so I wanted to use spider webs as an element in this project.

A simple cotton or spider web structure is soft and unstable, so I needed a strong frame, so I associated it with wire. If I can build a frame out of wire first, and then wrap the wire around it or tie the thread and thread together, I can build a stable model.

I love the combination of the netting and black wire, and the sheet music hanging from it, giving the illusion of a fixed space.

This is Chiharu Shiota’s work, which uses netting to create a very pure and fanciful space. And different shapes of cavities are created in the space so that people can walk into them. The messy interweaving of threads and strands creates a special aesthetic that affects the entry of light and the sight of people.
